MEET DR. ANGELIKA BEKERMAN,
Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Angelika Bekerman

Dr. Bekerman is originally from East Brunswick, NJ and is now a resident of New Paltz, NY. She is a graduate from the Pennsylvania State University, where she obtained a BS in Science and minored in Sociology. Dr. Bekerman received her degree in optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in Manhattan. She completed her internships in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lyons, NJ and at OMNI Eye Services of New Jersey, where she worked in conjunction with ophthalmologists to provide pre-operative and post-operative care to glaucoma, cataract and retinal surgery patients.

In June 2004, Dr. Bekerman completed her residency in Hospital-based Primary Care and Geriatric Optometry at the Boston Veterans Administration Hospital, Brockton Campus. During her residency, she also examined patients at the glaucoma clinic of Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (a teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School) and was a teaching assistant at the New England College of Optometry.

Dr. Bekerman has also been an annual volunteer for the Special Olympics Opening Eyes program since the summer of 2001 and is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association.
